Who We Are

We are a community of Christ-followers committed to raising up the next generation of believers through home-education. The Peace Homeschool Cooperative contributes to the discipleship of students and families through Biblical teaching and fellowship that equips students to stand firm on the Word of God and encourages parents in their calling to be the primary educators of their children.

As a “cooperative”, each family contributes to the group by sharing in the responsibilities necessary for our group to run smoothly. We are not a drop-off program. We value having students and parents both involved through the day, and thus parents are required to be actively involved during each meeting day.

Peace Homeschool Cooperative meets on Mondays from 12:30 - 3:40pm at Peace Community Church in Frankfort. The academic calendar, along with additional information is available in the PCHC HANDBOOK.

Who We Serve

Peace Homeschool Co-Op serves students from Kindergarten (5 years old by September 1) to 8th grade. Additionally, we offer nursery care for younger siblings.

What We Value

  • Teaching that stands on the Biblical truths of the Gospel, and follows a young-earth, creation-based worldview.
  • The authority of Scripture; that it is the inspired Word of God, fully trustworthy and without error.
  • Building Christ-honoring relationships for students and families.
  • Discipleship and the importance of equipping the next generation for lives faithful to the Lord.
  • Home education and parents taking the primary role of teaching their children.
  • Shared leadership for the Co-Op so that parents can speak into the planning of the Co-Op and contribute their gifts and talents.
  • Development of independent learning skills and students growing into life-long learners who seek truth and wisdom.

Curriculum and Structure

We use the Answers Bible Curriculum from Answers in Genesis as our framework. Students and parents begin in the church sanctuary for a large group introduction to the day's Bible lesson. Students then move between large group and small group extensions that engage them in deeper learning. Examples of such extensions include science, history, art and physical education. Building relationships, parents having active roles in the education of their children, and keeping costs to a minimum are important to this Co-Op. For these reasons, parent involvement is needed. Please consider how you can utilize your gifts to support the co-op. We look forward to working with you as our children learn and grow together!

Costs

$50 Registration fee due at time of registration, and $150 per family per year for tuition, due in August

Fees and tuition are used to cover the cost of curriculum and materials. To keep costs low, families will be asked for supply donations at the beginning of the semester and throughout the year as needs arise, such as for special projects or activities. Additional details are available in the HANDBOOK.
